Hello world!

I’m Gwendolyn Ural Erkut, a human just like any other living in this very world. I work as an engineer but I also do enjoy many other things such as art, music and games. I like to create things and thus want to share it with all of you.

I do enjoy playing the piano, the violin and the guitar A LOT!!! Another art I enjoy creating with is photography especially with abstract objects or portraits of people. I touched a computer the first time when I was around 3 years old and I remember that time vividly. Since then, computers and alike have been a big part in my life. Thus my profession…and my huge interest in games and electronics in general.

If you could ask me which game I enjoy the most, I wouldn’t have a straight ‘This is the game I enjoy the most’ answer. I have too many! But few franchises that left me a remarkable impact were the Zelda, Pikmin, Mario, Final Fantasy, NieR and Silent Hill games. I do also enjoy Gravity Rush a lot (in my eyes quite a unique game). For me, games are art or rather a medium that can represent many arts in one place.

I don’t only play games for entertainment but rather also analyse them for hours. How do the physics work? What shaders were used in the engine to develop x and y? Why does the game play the way it does etc. I would spent hours to find glitches in a game to see the cracks in the code. This obsession I developed turned out to be incredibly useful for creating my own game Proto:ReCompute. It is my biggest project yet, and I poured all my love into it.
